Safe and Effective Pregnancy Care

Chiropractic is not only extremely safe but is highly beneficial during pregnancy. Many changes occur in the body during pregnancy, the main one being that your body produces hormones to relax your ligaments to allow for the delivery of the baby as well as the growing belly. This changes your centre of gravity. Chiropractic care can help maintain healthy and correct spinal function and reduce discomfort during pregnancy.

Our practitioners are trained and able to deliver the Webster technique. This technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and gentle adjustment often used in pregnancy. The technique includes a soft tissue release of associated muscle groups. The technique is applied to reduce the stress in the pregnant woman’s pelvis and soft tissues which relaxes and balances the uterus and surrounding ligaments. This facilitates improved mobility and relaxes any restrictions that may be limiting the mobility of the child in utero.

I have been seeing Dr Barry for a few years now. I started due to ongoing headaches/migraines which vastly improved after attending Karrinyup Wellness Centre. My husband now attends (he highly rates the massages) and our children have been seeing Dr Barry since they were born. He has assisted with injuries, illness, general growing pains and sleeplessness. Dr Shinae has miracle hands, she may look tiny but she is incredibly strong, knowledgeable and gives you a holistic insight into the cause of pain. Dr Shinae, one of the chiro’s at Karrinyup Wellness Centre has done wonders for the health of our family. She originally saw our 7 month old child who was a screamer in the car and within a couple of weeks, our child was much more comfortable and calm in the car seat. Dr Shinae then assisted me with my wrist pain - De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis which was a symptom of having a young Bub and breastfeeding. Within 6 weeks, I was out of my wrist braces and barely had any pain in my hands, ready to go back to work. Dr Shinae also specializes in the Chiro technique N.O.T. and has an incredible understanding of kinesiology which has aided in fast tracking her treatment and helping our family through any personal and mental issues we come across in our daily lives. When she is away, her brother Dr Scott is also incredible at all of the above too. We’re so happy with the care we’ve received from Dr Shinae and Dr Scott.

I've seen Shinae and Scott and they are both really well trained chiros who also incorporate kinesio testing into their treatment.The practice has its own X-ray facilities to identify spine curvature, posture, or other spinal abnormalities.
