  1. Walk outdoors – in the sunshine or the rain. Walk in a park, along the beach or in the bush. Reconnect with nature away from the stress of home or work. Breathe in the fresh air and take in the smells and sounds around you.
  2. Watch the sunrise – or sunset. Seeing the amazing colours at these times of day can be very inspiring.
  3. Listen to music – music can easily change your mood as it evokes memories. And it doesn’t have to be classical music – find a tune that makes you happy and may even make you sing.
  4. Play with your pet –a pets love is unconditional and being around a pet can bring out our nurturing side.
  5. Read a daily inspirational phrase – grab a phrase book from a bookshop or library or look on the internet for inspirational sites. Start the day with a positive and uplifting mantra and repeat this throughout the day.
  6. Be creative – this is a way the soul may express itself. Try painting or poetry or gardening or knitting or whatever you are drawn too. Completing a creative project is satisfying in itself.
  7. Do a random act of kindness – making someone else’s life a little better can really lighten the soul.
  8. Hug someone – your child, a partner, a parent, a friend – this connection with another person can in itself be all you need to feel better.
  9. Watch a comedy – laughter is medicine. It makes us feel happy when we laugh and can help reduce feelings of stress.
  10. Nourish your body – eat unprocessed foods, lots of fresh vegetables and fruits to give your body the nutrients it needs to be strong.
