Embrace the Power of Herbs: Celebrating Herbal Medicine Week here at Karrinyup Wellness Centre (27th October – 3rd November 2024).
Whether enjoying herbs fresh, dried, as tonics or as herbal teas, herbal medicine has been celebrated for centuries for their health-boosting properties.
1. Fresh Herbs: Adding Flavour and Nutrition to your meals
Fresh herbs are not only a feast for the senses, but they also pack a nutritional punch. Herbs like basil, parsley, and cilantro are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, and can help enhance digestion and reduce inflammation. Adding fresh herbs to your meals elevates both flavour and health, making your dishes vibrant and nutritious.
Growing herbs at home in your garden has added benefits – it can be an easy yet beautiful way to spend more time outside, which can support healthy Vitamin D levels, reduce feelings of stress and even improve your sleep through regulating your circadian rhythm.
2. Herbal Teas: A Soothing Experience
Herbal teas are a delightful way to enjoy the benefits of herbs, with many different benefits including for relaxation, digestion, and sleep. Chamomile is known for its calming properties, while peppermint can help soothe an upset stomach. With endless varieties available, there’s a herbal tea to suit every mood and need!
