Foam Roller Postural Exercise
This exercise is a great way to get some extension through your thoracic spine to improve your natural postural position.
Hip Flexor Stretch
In this video Dr Sean, one of our chiropractors demonstrates a stretch for the iliopsoas muscle group. This is useful not only for athletes but also people who work at a desk, from their car or have to do a lot of bending during their day. This can often help with low back pain, hip pain, leg pain, pelvic pain, stiffness and tension as well as other symptoms.
It is important to note that sometimes a muscle can have an increase in tone because it is too WEAK (a compensation designed to keep us moving)– which means it does not need stretching but rather strengthening! Therefore it is vital that if you are feeling any low back pain, pelvic pain or anterior hip pain that you think might be related to your hip flexor function that you get assessed by your chiro to make sure you’re applying the correct therapy for your body.
