Dr Amity’s Lockdown Tips

meditation

To all my valued and appreciated clients,

Well that changed quickly!

For all those still working, please be safe and sanitary. For the rest who are locked down, please stay calm and positive.

At this stage we will be open again from this Saturday the 6th February. We will keep you posted as we receive more information. In the meantime here is what I will be doing this week to keep my body and mind calm, balanced and well:

  • Making use of my allotted exercise time every day. I encourage you all to also mask up and go enjoy a path or beach walk. Today, due to the current bushfires I will be doing indoor stretching/yoga as my exercise. Movement of any kind is beneficial for your muscles, heart and lungs, digestive and nervous systems.
  • Getting creative! I intend on getting creative in my kitchen by attempting various mouthwatering recipes off Google J. Please let me know if anyone would like me to share some of the healthy and delicious recipes I discover.
  • Connect and check in. I encourage you all to use some of your spare time to call, message, email, tweet or however you prefer to contact loved ones and friends. It is especially important to reach out and support each other during this time.
  • No excuses now! We all have time this week to practice even 5mins of quiet mindfulness. I cannot emphasize how beneficial the act of meditation is. To all of you who have the current belief “I can’t meditate” please watch the Netflix series ‘Headspace; guide to meditation’. This series is extremely informative and helps you to learn/find a meditation practice that works for you.

I look forward to seeing you all very soon and finding out what you did to keep yourself balanced during lockdown.

Yours in Health.
